The Basics: Sourdough

Taught by Elizabeth Bruinius of The Backyard Farmers, a small local sourdough in home
micro-bakery. In this class you will learn how to start a sourdough starter from scratch, bring to life a
dehydrated starter, make a sourdough loaf, and basics on how to shape, and score your loaf.
This class will include basic knowledge of sourdough, along with great information regarding
maintaining your sourdough starter; which is the most important part of sourdough.
The cost of the class includes a dehydrated sourdough starter, booklet with notes regarding the sourdough starter, a sourdough recipe, and a fresh sourdough loaf baked and provided by the instructor.
We recommend you bring the following: pen, note pad, apron or clothes you don’t mind
getting dirty.
