MINUTES OF THE PEOTONE PARK DISTRICT BOARD MEETING OF FEBRUARY 14th 2023.

1. ROLL CALL: Park District meeting called to order at 6:02 P.M. Present were Aimee Saari, Barb Sim, Shaun Ziems, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren, absent Lindsey Schwiesow. Also present, Park Manager Kelly La More, Park Maintenance Jeff Eschbach and from the general public Kelly Chenoweth.
2. APPROVAL OR CORRECTIONS TO THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 12th 2022 PEOTONE PARK DISTRICT SPECIAL PLANNING MEETING: Motion to approve November 12th 2022 minutes with correction by Shaun Ziems, seconded by Aimee Saari. Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Saari yes, Barb Sim Yes, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren yes. Motion passes 4/0.
3. APPROVAL OR CORRECTIONS TO THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 6th 2022 PEOTONE PARK DISTRICT BOARD MEETING: Motion to approve December 6th 2022 minutes by Shaun Ziems, seconded by Aimee Saari. Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Saari yes, Barb Sim yes, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren yes. Motion passes 4/0.
4. APPROVAL OR CORRECTIONS TO THE MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 10th 2023 PEOTONE PARK DISTRICT BOARD MEETING: Motion to approve January 10th 2023 minutes by Shaun Ziems, seconded by Aimee Saari. Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Sarri yes, Barb Sim yes, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren yes. Motion passes 4/0.
5. PUBLIC COMMENT AND/OR QUESTIONS: Kelly Chenoweth asked about doing a public survey.

   • MAINTENANCE REPORT:  See attached. Board wants to only weed and feed fields $200. Board wants prices on turface. Kelly La More will draft a letter to the school and PBSA regarding Truface, fence guards and bleachers.
   • MANAGERS REPORT: See attached
7. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE AND PAYROLL:  Motion to approve accounts payable and payroll as presented by Shaun Ziems, seconded by Aimee Saari. Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Saari yes, Barb Sim Yes, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren yes. Motion passes 4/0.
8. OLD BUSINESS:
   • NEW PROGRAMS/ EVENTS: Motion to spend up to $300 on Easter Egg Hunt by Shaun Ziems, seconded by Aimee Saari. Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Saari yes, Barb Sim yes, Jacklyn Van Overmeiren yes. Motion passes 4/0.
   • CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS: Barb Sim suggested signs throughout the park.
   • AUTHORIZE REPAIRS/ UPGRADES TO PARK FACILITIES: Tabled
   • AUTHORIZE REPAIRS/ UPGRADES TO PARK EQUIPMENT: Motion to approve $5700 (depending on costs, maybe more) for two pieces of equipment for division street park by Barb Sim, seconded by Shaun Ziems. Barb Sim yes, Shaun Ziems yes, Aimee Saari yes, Jacklyn Van Overmerien yes. Motion passes 4/0.
9. NEW BUSINESS:
   • PURCHASE AND PLACEMENT OF BLEACHERS FOR BALL FIELDS: Tabled
   • AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED WITH PROPERTY SURVEY: Tabled
   • AUTHORIZATION TO DEPOSIT 2023 TAX LEVY FUNDS TO OLD PLANK TRAIL MONEY MARKET ACCOUNT: Board members agreed to deposit 2023 tax levy funds into the OPTCB money market account as it earns more interest.
   • IMPROVEMENTS TO BATE PARK:  Tabled
   • IMPROVEMENTS TO WESTGATE PARK: Tabled
   • APPROVAL OF EMPLOYEE INCREASES: Tabled
